3. Best time for Safari in Tanzania

The best time to visit Tanzania for a safari is during the dry season from late June to October. Tanzania has two distinct rainy seasons: April to May (the ‘long rains’) and November to December (the ‘short rains’). In Tanzania, there are 2 wet seasons and a dry season. The wet season usually occurs from mid-March to early June for the long rains and from October to December for the short rains. In the coastal areas, the climate is hot and humid, as you move inland towards the highlands the temperature becomes cooler and temperate.

Dry Season in Tanzania

Generally, the dry months, late June to October. Give better wildlife sightings, but they are also the most crowded months to visit. The country has low and high seasons in different areas at different times, due to the movement of the animals and the rainfall.

The wildebeest migration is best to be seen in the mid of July in the northern Serengeti, until the end of August.
