Detailed Itinerary

Day 0: Arrival Tanzania

Welcome to Tanzania! As your plane descends into the airport, your Great Migration Safaris adventure into the wilds of the country will finally begin. A representative will meet you in the arrivals hall of the airport, and together you will make a short drive to the hotel, just inside the city. Foot Slopes Tours & Safaris’ safari manager will come to meet you and to provide you with a safari briefing.

Day 1: Arusha to Northern Serengeti National Park

Pick up early in the morning at the hotel around 7:00 a.m. and drive to the Northern Serengeti National Park for your Great Migration Safaris, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, you descend into the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National Park – with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see.

Head to the Central Park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. You arrive in time for lunch at Nabi gate and enjoy an afternoon en-route game drive in the Serengeti National Park. Dinner and overnight at the Lobo Campsite.

Day 2: Northern Serengeti game drive

After having breakfast, you will experience a game drive following the animal migration at the Northern Serengeti Great Migration Safaris. You can see wildebeests, zebras, topi hartebeests, elands, antelopes, hyenas, and various birds singing in the trees while viewing the beautiful landscape and nature. Usually, in July, August and the beginning of November, the migration reaches its northern range in which the herds cross the grasslands on either bank of the crocodile-infested Mara River twice, as they complete their migration. You will also be able to enjoy the sunset at Serengeti between 18:20 – 18:40 after the game drive before returning and staying overnight at Campsite.

Day 3: Northern Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

After night relaxing, you will have a Great Migration Safaris game drive in the morning, together with breakfast followed by an early lunch, you will proceed to Ngorongoro. Today, you will be doing a game viewing en-route during your way from Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater. You will be in Ngorongoro Crater late in the evening where the night will be spent on the crater rim. Dinner and overnight will be at Ngorongoro Simba Campsite.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

After breakfast, you depart for the descend down the crater for a five-to-six-hour game drive. In the crater, you are able to view the Big Five. See buffalo, giraffe, zebra and many more species, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Great Rift Wall. After the game drive in Ngorongoro crater, our driver will take back to Arusha for overnight at the hotel booked for you.

Day 5: Transfer to the airport (Arusha/Kilimanjaro Airport)

After breakfast in the lodge, you will be transferred to take the flight back home. This will be the end of your tour and safari holidays with Foot Slopes Tours & Safaris.
