Detailed Tanzania Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival Tanzania/Arusha /Kilimanjaro airport
Welcome to Tanzania! As your plane descends into Kilimanjaro International Airport/Arusha between the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru, your adventure into the wilds of the country will finally begin. A representative will meet you in the arrivals hall of the airport, and together you will make a short drive to the hotel, just outside the city.
Our safari manager will come to meet you and to provide you with a safari briefing. A wonderful home-cooked dinner will be served on the spot
Day 2: Tarangire National Park- Game drive
After breakfast, the tour departs. The first stop is Arusha Town for any last-minute purchases before we head off on safari. Afterward, we head towards the Tarangire National Park for a game drive with picnic lunch at the park. Tarangire is well known for its huge elephant population and baobab trees. It forms the center of an annual migratory cycle that includes up to 3000 elephants, 25,000 wildebeest, and 30,000 zebras. Dinner and overnight at Panorama campsite.
Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, our driver will pick you up and depart to the Lake Manyara national park for your Northern Tanzania Safari game drive. This national park is one of Tanzania’s most dramatically located wildlife areas, consisting of a massive but shallow soda lake (covering two-thirds of the park), located at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment. The park’s varied habitat attracts a wide variety of animals, including one of Africa’s largest concentrations of elephants, Lake Manyara unique tree-climbing lions, as well as large flocks of flamingos attracted by the algae in the lake. Late afternoon transfer to dinner and overnight at Lake Eyasi campsite/ lodge
Day 4 Hadzabe and Bushmen Cultural Tour
Today it’s time to interact with the Bushmen, the Hadzabe Tribe, who live in groups hunting with bow and arrows and gathering roots, tubers, and wild fruits much as humankind lived in the Stone Age for your best Northern Tanzania Safari. We will get an in-depth look at how they continue to survive and how they adapt to their harsh environment and the challenges they face to continue this nomadic existence. The Datoga tribe are blacksmiths, a trade developed over centuries and still practiced in varying much the same way today. They produce the arrowheads for the Hadzabe and brass trinkets, some of which will be for sale by the maker himself. Late afternoon transfer to for dinner and overnight Lake Eyasi campsite/lodge
Day Five Lake Eyasi to Ngorongoro crater
After a relaxing morning and an early lunch, you will proceed to Ngorongoro. Today, you will be doing a game viewing en-route during your way from Lake Eyasi to Ngorongoro Crater. You will have 5-hrs Ngorongoro Crater game drive late in the evening where the night will be spent on the crater rim. Dinner and overnight will be at Campsite/ lodge depending on request.
Day 6: Ngorongoro crater – Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, we head towards the Serengeti National Park, from the beautiful Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa – We head to the Central Park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the Park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. We arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti National Park. Dinner and overnight at Campsite/ lodge depending on request
Day 7: Serengeti National Park game drive
After breakfast, you will have a Safaris in Tanzania game viewing at Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti, Tanzania’s largest National Park, covers nearly 6,000 square miles. With grassland plains, Savannah, kopjes, hills, woodlands. The River line forest systems serve as critical water sources and are often excellent sites for wildlife viewing. Beyond the heralded migration of wildebeest and zebra, the Serengeti is best known for its big predators, including cheetah and Leopard, as well as large pride of Lions and clans of Hyenas and able to see the big 5. Dinner and overnight at Campsite/ lodge depending on request
Day 8: Serengeti National Park – Lake Natron
After an early breakfast, does a morning game drive then after doing a game en route towards north Serengeti. Check out of the park at Klein’s gate then transfer to Lake Natron for an early dinner and overnight. Go for an evening lake Natron walk for sunset if time permits. Dinner and overnight at Lake Natron campsite/lodge
Day 9: Lake Natron – Arusha
Enjoy the spectacular tour in the Soda Lake of Natron and the beautiful waterfall flow from highlands toward the direction of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Lake Natron is lying in a beautiful scenic area below the Rift Valley escarpment. Lake Natron has such a high concentration of sodium, that the water is often viscous to the touch. There are good game viewing and birding in this harsh landscape with dry country species such as gerenuk, lesser kudu, and Oryx. Natron is also the only known breeding ground for East Africa’s millions of lesser flamingos which cover the lake between August and October. ). Explore a guided bush walk to Lake Natron through walking toward the waterfall hike and swim. Also, visit the small Masai village of Ngare Sero. After transfer to Arusha for dinner and overnight at the hotel we booked for you.
Day 10: Transfer to Airport (Arusha/Kilimanjaro airport
After breakfast in the lodge, we will transfer you to take the flight back home this will be the end of your tour and safari holidays with us.
